Galbi (Korean Bbq Short Ribs)

  1. Soak the ribs in water for 1 hour. Drain well.
  2. Place ribs in a large Ziploc bag. Add marinade, seal and shake gently to coat ribs well. Refrigerate for 24 hours.
  3. Heat half the oil in a large high-sided skillet on medium-high. Cook ribs in batches for 2minutes each side, until caramelised, adding more oil as required.
  4. Garnish with scallions and sesame seeds, to serve.

Serving Suggestions
  • Korean potato salad (gamja salad), cucumber salad (oi muchim) and kimchi.
Grill Option
  • As per stove top (oil not needed).
Broil Option
  • Set oven to broil and preheat. Broil ribs (oil not needed) in a single layer near the top of the oven, until caramelised. Flip over and cook the other side. Watch carefully to avoid burning the ribs!
